It is entirely focused on security in today’s networks, and this is reflected in the ways of Cisco certification. Cisco offers a security track and CCIE Cisco Certified Security Professional (CPSC) Intermediate certification, but there is no real equivalent to the CCNA on the security side.
One security certifications most popular partner is the specialist certification Cisco VPN. This track consists of two examinations of a securing Cisco Network Devices (SND 642-551) and a review Cisco Secure Virtual Private Networks (CSVPN, 642-511) review. For the Cisco VPN Specialist exam, you must hold a valid CCNA certification.
What should you expect from these tests? Examination of the DSS, expect to be grilled on the security features based on both switches and routers, and VPN concentrators 3000, PIXes and IDS / IPS Sensors. You must be ready to configure and troubleshoot basic configuration AAA access lists, syslog, AutoSecure, and much more. You should also be solid with IPSec.
IPSec will also be part of your examination CSVPN. As you can imagine, you will also be expected to be very good with the VPN 3000 Concentrator series, including browser configuration, create user and group, the Windows VPN client software, and more.
